Site: Cobo Convention Center in Detroit, Michigan

Program: Expand the convention space and add a new convention hotel.

Solution: A cantilever of convention space, partially over the Detroit River is faced with signage that includes a digitized screen. The roof incorporates additional parking spaces and a pneumatic structure concert hall. The new, first class convention hotel is located at the former Joe Louis Arena. The shell of the original Arena is re-clad and extensively remodeled, becoming the new base for the tower.
